Barça Set to Play Inaugural Match at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
