Canada's skeleton athletes have been absolved of accusations that they deliberately manipulated a qualifying event for the Winter Olympics, which allegedly denied competitors from other nations a spot to qualify.

US skeleton veteran Katie Uhlaender alleged the Canadian squad of withdrawing four of its six entered athletes from a race in Lake Placid. She claimed this shrunk the competition, making a lower points pool available. Although she took first place, the American athlete did not secure her berth for the 2026 Olympics.

“The current IBSF Rules permit National Federations to withdraw athletes from competition at any time,” stated the governing body.
