Two men have been charged related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A young child was among those injured during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
